What's New: Account Codes for Work Orders and Scheduled Tasks

Overview:

We've updated how accounting codes are managed in Muddy Boots! Previously known as Major/Minor Codes, these fields have been renamed to Account Codes and are now managed through predefined lists.

Users can now select multiple Account Codes on Work Orders, and this functionality has also been extended to Scheduled Tasks.

What's Changing?

Centralized Management: Account Codes are now managed in the Maintenance Admin panel, providing a consistent list of codes for users to select from.

Multiple Account Codes: Users can search for and select multiple Account Codes on Work Orders and Scheduled Tasks.

Historical Records: Existing Major/Minor Codes will automatically be converted to Account Codes and retained on historical records.

Record History: Account Codes assigned to a record will be preserved, even if the code is later changed or deleted from the available list.

Automatic Cost Center Population: New Work Orders will automatically populate the Cost Center based on the selected site and equipment.

Improved Visibility: Site and Equipment Cost Centers are now displayed directly on Scheduled Tasks, rather than being available only through Excel exports.

Impact:

These enhancements make it easier to manage and track accounting information across Work Orders and Scheduled Tasks.

Using predefined Account Codes helps reduce manual entry errors, improves consistency, and makes cost tracking more reliable.

Important Note: Review Your Account Codes

Existing Major/Minor Codes will automatically be converted to Account Codes. However, we recommend reviewing your Account Codes following this release to identify any duplicates, inconsistencies, or outdated codes that may need to be cleaned up.

This will help ensure accurate and consistent cost coding moving forward.
